I just read this Wall Street Journal article on naming babies.
Can you imagine people hiring a consultant to help name their baby?  I don't think I would ever do that, but if my husband and I ever had another baby, especially a boy, we might consider it.  We spent months and months trying to decide, or agree, on names for our babies.  We wrote them out.  I saved the sheets of paper with all the options written out for the boys for when they get bigger.  Its funny to look back at them.
Jasper was always a front-runner.  I love that name.  Either one of my boys would have made a terrific Jasper, but really I can't imagine them not being Finn and Hyland Gray.  Both got family names of some sort. 
It was great to read the above article and realize we are not as manic as we thought....everybody else seems to put a lot of thought into naming thier babies.  It was also great to see that we named our babies for free, well, we did buy a book so I guess it wasn't totally free!
